Basic Troubleshooting

If you experience any issues with your devices, try the following before reaching out. Many common problems can be resolved with a few simple steps:

  • Make sure your hearing aids are turned on. Hold one in your closed hand and listen for feedback (a whistling sound).
  • If your device uses disposable batteries, test the battery by dropping it on a hard surface — charged batteries won’t bounce, but dead ones will.
  • If your hearing aids are rechargeable, check the charge on the charging case or in your smartphone app.
  • Make sure the battery door is completely closed.
  • Clean the device. Check the wax guard, dome, and receiver for earwax that may be affecting performance.
  • Ensure the hearing aid is inserted properly. Also, check that the correct device is in the correct ear (blue = left, red = right).
  • Adjust the volume control — make sure it’s not turned too low or too high.

To make troubleshooting your devices as easy as possible, we’ve attached videos below detailing the process for both the Horizon Go and the Horizon Mini.
